Hello - this is Kariann Anderson, SE Michigan Peregrine Falcon Coordinator DNR. I noticed you may have BB at your site? Our female 'BB' has a color band b/g N/58 and was born 5/9/2007 at the Whittier Apartments site in Detroit, Michigan. She was 1 of 4 eggs, however we lost 3 eggs early in the incubation process. Her parents, Allegro (Cleveland Ohio 1999) and Miriam (hacked from Richmond Hill Ontario 2003) have been nesting as a pair since 2005. Miriam is by far the most aggressive peregrine I've come into contact with, on banding day it is not unusual for her to draw blood - she is indeed one of my favorite birds. I wonder if she passed down those protective genes to her BB? Also, our BB fledged at 42 days and was in need of rescue - my volunteer assistant 'Barb Baldinger' (hence the name BB) was able to capture and place her back into the nest safely. If it wasn't for Barb our BB wouldn't have made it to NY.

I just left a response and e-mail to the writer of this article. I am always horrified when developers take over and try and con people that they will make sure that nature is preserved. Very rarely is it. they always make those MIstakes and then apologize.
I sure hope it can be made a state park. I may be Canadian but with what is happening to our national parks I am in complete sympathy.
In our national Parks people have the nerve to complain about the elk roaming free etc. and want them moved. that is what our national parks are supposed to do. Let them roam free.
Any thing that I can do I will. they have worked so hard to bring back the Condors. I am deeply saddened by this.
