Special thanks to our forum member “skygirlblue” for informing us of the Alcoa hatch that took place today and for sharing cam captures on our forum!

At least one of the four eggs has hatched (but looking at sgb’s pics it may be two)!

Waiting for a hatch at Alcoa

alcoa.jpg

It won’t be long before there’s a hatch at Alcoa :)

From the website: “Thursday, September 27, 2007
It’s the last couple of days before hatching and the female now becomes reluctant to leave the nest, and is aggressive towards the male if he offers to take over incubation.  Not that Havoc had much success moving Sheila from those eggs at any stage during incubation!” View the webcam and read more here…

Yes, 3rd Hatch for Brisbane, now we are waiting for Alcoa!

cam041.jpg

Congrats to our friends in Brisbane, Australia!  All three eggs have hatched and now the real fun begins!  Next on board will be hatching at the Alcoa nest!

Young falcons are pink and wet when they first hatch, but oh what a sight!  In the coming days they will double their weight, in the coming weeks they will depend on their parents for food, and before we know it they will be exercising and flapping their wings in preparation for first flight!

Enjoy watching these little “white fuzz balls” while you can!  They will grow up faster than you think!
