An Update: Second Hatch for FrodoCam!

Many of us here at “Falcons and Friends” have been following, watching and waiting for the Brisbane, Australia Peregrines to hatch their brood of three.  Right on schedule the second chick arrived in the early morning hours of Sept. 26, 2007 – Australia time :) http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/extras/frodocam/frodo.htm

It’s always a wonderous and special time when new life comes into the world.  How lucky we are to be able to watch these events across the miles and continents!

Now to wait for Number Three’s arrival (I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened VERY soon – I think I’ve seen a small pip in that final egg)!

9/24/07 EST – Falcon Hatch in Brisbane, Australia

Thank you to our forum member Bev for sharing some of the first images of a hatch at the FrodoCam site in Brisbane, Australia!  Yes, while we in the Northern Hemisphere are watching fall migration, our friends in the Southern are celebrating new life!

Many thanks to Courier Mail and John Grey for their continued dedication in bringing this opportunity to all of us across the globe: http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/extras/frodocam/default.htm

As always, our forum members continue to post their comments and observations regarding this nest: http://www.buffalofalcons.com/forum/index.php?topic=218.0

SIDE NOTE FROM MARWEE: Yesterday on the way home from church, we saw a Peregrine Falcon feeding on pigeon on 12′ brick wall nearby. He/she did not seem fazed at all by the fact we stopped and watched “the meal”. He/she then flew to top of apartment building and then out of sight, perhaps part of group going over Cape Cod. Beautiful picture of Merlin and his/her meal in above article.
